Engineering Summer Program 2013

Engineering Summer Program (ESP) is a six-week residential program for students who will be high school juniors or seniors in the upcoming school year, designed to help them gain a better understanding of the field of engineering and its disciplines.

This year, Prof. Jiang gave the students a lecture on "Microoptics and microsensors". Also, our research group set up four demonstrations related to Optical MEMS, so as to get them aquainted with our work.

(1) Principles of LASER and demo of the LASER setup

(2) Induction of hydrophilicity in hydrophobic polymers using Corona Discharge treatment

(3) Measurement of contact angle variations of water droplets on hydrophobic and hydrophilic surfaces using a goniometer

(4) Panoramic imaging using a multi-camera array
